Opium worth Rs 2 lakh seized, one smuggler arrested in Chatra

Chatra, Sep 21 (UNI) A smuggler has been arrested alongwith two kgs of opium from Simaria Police Station area of this district.
Briefing the press, SDPO Vachandeo Kujur today said a tip off had been received that some men involved in opium smuggling were coming towards Bagra after which a massive vehicle checking drive was launched in the area. During the drive, a person on suspicion was nabbed from whose possession two kgs of opium and a motorcycle was seized the police officer said adding that two of his other associates managed to flee leaving their bike behind.
He said that the cost of the seized opium was about Rs 2 lakh.
