Geneva, Dec 12 (UNI) The United Nations said that about one million Syrian children were born in the neighboring countries they had sought refuge in since the beginning of the humanitarian crisis in Syria, increasing the requirements of its various agencies to address the humanitarian plight of Syrian refugees and their children.
United Nations agencies and partner Non-governmental organizations from Geneva have issued a regional plan to assist neighboring host countries, support Syrian refugees and enhance their adaptive capacities during 2019 and 2020.
UNHCR Director for the Middle East and North Africa Bureau and Regional Refugee Coordinator for Syria and Iraq Amin Awad said that there are now almost a million Syrian children born in previous years in neighboring countries.
