One lakh commuters hopped on e-buses in three days: Delhi govt

New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) Delhi government-run electric buses are receiving an outstanding response from the public within three days of their launch. The state government claimed on Friday that about one lakh of passengers have commuted in the buses from the day their service was commenced.
Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot informed that the footfall started with 12,000 commuters on day 1 which increased to 52,000 on the third day.
“I travelled in e-buses and am very happy to see the passengers accept the initiative so well. About one lakh people have travelled in electric buses for free on three days on 24, 25 and 26 May. Out of which 40 per cent are women. In which about 12 thousand people travelled on the first day on 24 May. On May 25, about 28 thousand people travelled. Along with this, on May 26, about 52 thousand people travelled,” he said.
