One killed, 3 rescued in snow avalanche in Ganderbal

Srinagar, Jan 30 (UNI) A non-local worker was killed while three others were rescued after a snow avalanche hit central Kashmir district of Ganderbal on Thursday, official sources said.

They said four non-local persons, working for Private Construction Company, came under several feet of snow after an avalanche hit Gagangir area in Ganderbal on Thursday.

“A search and rescue operation was immediately launched,” they said, adding after tiring efforts body of one of the missing person was recovered.

Meanwhile, they said three persons were recovered alive from under several feet of snow.
