On International Yoga Day, Bollywood celebs inspire people to be fit

New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) On the occasion of the fourth International Yoga Day ,public figures from Bollywood and TV industry on Thursday lauded yoga as a tool to maintain good health .

Supermodel, actor, and fitness promoter Milind Soman shared his picture on Twitter and motivated everyone to be fit.

'My contribution to the 1,00,000 Suryanamaskaaras that the people at @BeCureFit are targetting today on #InternationalYogaDay. I feel stronger and more flexible with yoga and it's never too late to start!! #BeFitWithYoga,' Milind tweeted.

MP and singer Babul Supriyo said,'It was surreal today to practice & talk about the 'Power of Yoga' at the historic Humayun's Tomb along with Swami Ramdev ji - the Yoga Icon himself. This #InternationalYogaDay event was organised by & will be telecast by Rajya Sabha TV on the 21st of June. Do watch it.'

Known as 'Angoori bhabhi' in a comedy series 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai', Shubhangi Atre also inspired people on the International Yoga Day.

'Yoga is a path that takes time and Dedication. It's a journey and some take longer and some take shorter time. Be willing to walk your own journey and be inspired by others at the same time. So, Taking the Day for myself today. #YogaDay,' Shubhangi said.

Actress Tanishaa Mukerji said,'Happy #InternationalYogaDay everyone! The practice of yoga done right is magic for the human body. So thankful that I can do this today cos even though I lifted heavy weights for shoulders I was not able to lift myself! This pose took time as my shoulders were 2 tight! #FitIndia.'

Actor, singer and host Rajeev Khandelwal said,'A little yoga a day keeps a lot of worries away. You can only know the benefits when you start practicing it.'

Lord of the Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar shared his picture on Twitter saying,'Log out... shut down... keep calm and do Yoga. #YogaDay.'

Actor, producer, director Shekhar Suman wished everyone and said Yoga is the best gift India has given to the world.

'Happy yoga day to every one..practice yoga every day as I do..It keeps you physically and mentally agile.It's the best gift of India to the world,' Shekhar said.

Actress,author, producer, and interior designer Twinkle Khanna shared a cute picture with her daughter on Instagram doing Yoga and captioned it,'A few asanas a day, keep my inner werewolf at bay #yogaday.'

Actress and businesswoman Shilpa Shetty Kundra also posted a video on Instagram with a message for her fans.

Actress Kangana Ranaut also posted two videos and two pictures on Instagram of her trying different yogasanas from her vacation in London.

“#KanganaRanaut shows her dedication towards #Yoga on #InternationalYogaDay2018 & encourages everyone to adopt Yoga as a lifestyle & a way to spiritual awakening. #YogaDay2018 #WorldYogaDay #internationalyogaday,” Kangana's post read.

Kangana is seen in a lush green park as she basks in the morning sun and a great workout.

In a short video clip shared by the official team account of the star on Instagram, actress Kangana Ranaut can be seen performing various asanas including 'chakrasana', 'suryanamaskar' and 'adhomukhasvasana', with ease and perfection.

Actress Disha Patani also too took to Instagram to send out a message to her fans and followers on how yoga can help them free their 'brain, body and soul'.

"I urge all the youngsters to take time out of your hectic schedule & make time for yourself to keep calm & lighten your mind with Yoga," Disha said.

Actress and dancer Malaika Arora Khan introduced people to a new form of yoga -- Diva Yoga.

"Introducing Diva Yoga- a one of kind transformation program for a woman's overall well being. Are you ready to awaken the Diva in you? (sic)," Malaika wrote in her Instagram post.

Actress Nimrat Kaur too showed off her yoga skills in an Instagram post where she can be seen performing some asanas with absolute ease.

'Hate Story 4' fame Ihana Dhillon said,' For me yoga is most important to attain peace and tranquility. It creates balance between mind and body. And moreover it’s a best form of exercise which works on both, body and mind.'

Actor Ashrut Jain said,'Yoga is some thing which we as Indians should be really proud about' for me personally yoga helped me to connect to my inner self and increase my creativity. With yoga 'I inhale the future and exhale the past' as it opens door to the immense fitness and creativity. Remember your stomach craves for food and tounge craves for taste' so never let your taste buds conquer us and laziness conquer our body. Yoga is a great answer to any negative habits.'
