On becoming BCCI President Sourav Ganguly says " It is a great responsibility now and hopefully can do a good job"

Kolkata, Oct 15 (UNI) Sourav Ganguly, who is set to take the chair of BCCI president on October 23, today said his job is very challenging with a set of a new young team of office bearers as well as to work for the first-class cricketers.
"It is a great responsibility now and hopefully I can do a good job. It's two different lives -- one is a cricketer and the second one as an administrator. Firstly, I think what makes me happier is that I got an opportunity in a tough situation and it gives me tremendous confidence and makes me feel that they have confidence in my ability.'
" I have a young team and it will be new for all of them, but all of us will work to the best of our abilities and we won't lack anywhere," 47-year-old former India skipper told reporters at the city airport on his arrival.
Earlier in the day Sourav Ganguly, who will take over as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India on October 23, tweeted a photo with his new team.
"The new team at. @bcci .. hopefully, will work well. Anurag Thakur thank you for seeing this through," he wrote on Twitter.
Sourav Ganguly is seen standing with Jay Shah, Arun Dhumal Jayesh George and Mahim Verma, who are all set to be part of his team at the board. Former BCCI chief, Anurag Thakur, is also in the picture.
Jay Shah, son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is set to be the new Secretary of the BCCI while Arun Dhumal, who is Anurag Thakur's brother, is going to be the board's new Treasurer. Jayesh George will be the new Joint Secretary and Mahim Verma will be the Vice President.
Anurag Thakur, who is currently the Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, reportedly played a big role in Ganguly getting the top job at the BCCI.
After filing the nomination in Mumbai, Sourav Ganguly addressed the media and said he wants to bring normalcy back in the Indian cricket board, adding that he never expressed any aspiration to become the BCCI President.
Almost all the affiliated units of the Indian cricket board unanimously supported Ganguly's candidature for the top post in Mumbai on Monday.
Ganguly said his top priority will be now to change the life of the first-class cricketers as well as the bottom line as they deserve attention.
"First-class cricketers will be my priority and we will change their life. You only look at the top but we will also look at the bottom as many gems of Indian cricket lie there and we will change their life,"
Ganguly said.
Ganguly also thanked the people for their support and said he will leave no stones unturned for the betterment of the Indian cricket. On Indian cricket team now he said "India is a good team and they are playing well. Yes, I know they haven't won a big tournament, but I know they will turn things around. Kohli is a champion player and he will turn it around."
