Omar suggests non-official dialogue on lines of Moscow Format talks with all stakeholders in J&K

Srinagar, Nov 9 (UNI) Reacting to New Delhi’s participation at ‘non-official level’ in Moscow Format talks on Afghanistan in which Taliban is also a delegation, National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah said if it is acceptable to Modi-led government, why not a non-official dialogue with non-mainstream stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir.
Why not a “non-official” dialogue centered around J&K’s eroded autonomy and its restoration, Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, further asked.
“If “non-official” participation in a dialogue that includes the taliban is acceptable to the Modi government why not a “non-official” dialogue with non-mainstream stakeholders in J&K? Why not a “non-official” dialogue centered around J&K’s eroded autonomy & its restoration?” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
The NC Vice President was reacting to a tweet which read, “Government statement on participation at "non-official" delegation at Moscow Format talks on Afghanistan on Thursday which includes a Taliban delegation. Former Ambassadors Amar Sinha and TCA Raghavan to attend talks.”
The Ministry of External Affair in a statement issued on Thursday said, "We are aware that the Russian Federation is hosting a meeting in Moscow on November 9 (Friday) on Afghanistan."

“India supports all efforts at peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan that will preserve unity and plurality, and bring security, stability and prosperity to the country. India's consistent policy has been that such efforts should be Afghan-led, Afghan-owned, and Afghan-controlled and with participation of the Government of Afghanistan,” it said.
“Our participation at the meeting will be at the non-official level,” it added.
