New Delhi/Abu Dhabi, Feb 23 (UNI) For the ruling BJP there is much more to cheer about Modi government's pro-active foreign policy when the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has decided to invite External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to attend the inaugural plenary on March 1.
In a statement while MEA in Delhi said - "We see this invitation as the desire of the enlightened leadership of the UAE to go beyond our rapidly growing close bilateral ties", for its part the UAE dispensation has hailed India's emerging prowess.
"The friendly country of India has been named as the guest of honour in view of its great global political stature as well as its time-hounoured and deeply rooted cultural and historical legacy, and its important Islamic component," the UAE statement said.
