Odisha targets to procure 48 lakh MTs of rice during 2022-23 KMS

Bhubaneswar, Sep 30 (UNI) Odisha government has fixed a tentative target to procure 48 lakh metric tons of rice during 2022-2023 Kharif Marketing Season(KMS) as per the Food and Procurement Policy for 2022-23 KMS approved by the state Cabinet at its meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday.
Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting Chief Secretary S C Mohapatra said in terms of paddy this comes to around 71 lakh MT.
Paddy will be procured as per the MSP declared by the Union government at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal for the Mormon variety and Rs 2060 per quintal for grade A variety.
