Odisha govt.sets target to complete infrastructure development of eco tourism spots

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 (UNI) Odisha government has targeted to complete the infrastructure development of identified eco-tourism spots by December next to attract more tourists.
Reviewing the infrastructure development of eco tourism spots in the state, Chief
Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi today directed the Forest and Environment department to
make eco-tourism remunerative and sustainable by developing the eco-tourism spots and
making wide publicity about it.
The Chief Secretary directed to complete the infrastructure development of 19 eco- tourism
spots identified this year.
He asked the Forest and Environment department to develop some eco-tourism places as
all weather tourist destinations.
Official sources here said infrastructure of ten prominent eco-tourism spots has been
renovated at a cost of Rs three crore this year.
In addition to it projects were taken up in nine places at a cost of Rs 8.05 crore to create
more facilities for tourists. Out of which project has been completed in Kumari and Chhotakei.
The Chief Secretary directed to complete the rest projects by December next.
Sources said projects for infrastructure development have been expedited in 16 places at a
cost of Rs 14.39 crore. While the project has been completed in ten places target has been
fixed to complete the rest by November-December next.
