Odisha govt. announces cash award for information on illegal sex determination

Bhubaneswar, Nov 11 (UNI) In a bid to prevent the sex determination tests, the Odisha government on Friday announced cash award of Rs 25,000 for information about the illegal sex determination in the state.
The cash award will be given to the informer in three installments, Secretary Health and Family Welfare Smt Shalini Pandit said.
She said information from people's sources will be very helpful in preventing this malice. The government accordingly simplified the guidelines and issued them to District Collectors and enforcement authorities for intensifying implementation of the PC and PNDT Act throughout the State.
