Odisha Covid tally surpasses 54K, Death toll surges to 324

Bhubaneswar, Aug 14 (UNI) Covid positive tally in Odisha today surged to 54,630 with 1,977 new cases reported during the last 24 hours while the death toll went up to 324 with ten more succumbing to the virus in the state.
Family and welfare department sources said, four Covid patients from Ganjam district, three from Puri and one each from Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Cuttack districts died while under treatment in hospital taking the Covid death toll in the state to 324.
This apart, so far 53 Covid patients have also died in the state but the authorities claimed that they have died due to reasons other than Covid.
