Bhubaneswar, Dec 09 (UNI) Odisha Assembly today condoled the death of Chief of Defence Services (CDS) General Bipin Laxman Singh Rawat, his wife and 11 other Defence personnel who died in a helicopter crash at Coonoor in Tamilnadu yesterday.
The Indian Air Force helicopter crashed near Coonor in Tamilnadu while the CDS was on his way to Defence Service Staff College Wellington in Nilgiri district to address the faculty and student officers of the staff course.
Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi, Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra, and CPI-M leader Laxman Munda joined the leader of the house and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to mourn the sad demise of General Rawat, the first CDS of the country, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other Defence personnel.
