Odisha achieves significant success in controlling naxal activities: Tripathy

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22 (UNI) Odisha has achieved significant success in controlling
Naxalite activities, state Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said here today.
After Chairing a meeting on left wing extremism, Mr Tripathy said due to constant
preventive measure and intelligence based targeted step taken by the government
the number of Naxal affected districts has come down from 15 to five.
He said the strategy for weeding out Naxals from the state would be chalked out
at the national level meeting scheduled to be held on August 26 at New Delhi under
the Chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah
Chief Ministers of all the Naxal affected states Including Odisha Chief Minister
Naveen Patnaik are scheduled to attend the meeting.
Mr Tripathy emphasized on the development of road connectivity, telecommunication
and banking service along with anti-Naxal operations to counter the Maoists in the state.
