OBC to get reservation in Sainik schools from 2021-22: MoD

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The Defence Ministry has announced that the reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) will be introduced in Sainik schools from the academic year 2021-22, across the country.
The decision was announced by Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar said on Friday in a Twitter post.
Following the decision, the allocation of seats in Sainik schools would be Scheduled Castes (SC) 15 per cent, Scheduled Tribes (ST) 7 pc, OBC (non-creamy layer) 27 pc, defence category 13 pc and general category 38 pc, according to a Defence Ministry notification.
