NVCO exposes on huge illegal taxation

Kohima, Nov 17 (UNI) The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization (NVCO) has sought clarification from the State Government whether it has issued such proper order in favour of the Petroleum and Land Transport Workers’ Federation of India (PLTWFI) to collect cash on any highways in Nagaland.
In a press release, NVCO president Kezhokhoto Savi reacted to the claim by the PLTWFI Nagaland unit that the federation was in possession of ‘proper order’ from the State Government, PLTWFI state unit president Akheto Achumi made the claim while refuting “taxation charges.” He said the federation having entered into MoUs with NGOs such as All Manipur Road Transport Drivers & Motor Workers Union and All Assam Truck Drivers Union to collect cash on highways across Nagaland State is out of question, but simply making a mockery in the eye of law.
The NVCO stated that in coordination with the All Manipur Transport Drivers & Motor Workers Union several pay-counters have been set up in Kohima District, it urged the State Government to issue summon to the union as to why such illegal conduct is practiced in the State, while on the other hand they complaint and alleged of huge illegal taxation in Nagaland especially at the check-gates and on highways, which is also part of their contribution.

All 15 candidates for two LS seats clear scrutiny
