Nun rape case: Court adjourns trial proceedings

Kottayam, Nov 13 (UNI) Additional District Court court here on Wednesday adjourned the hearing in Bishop Franco Mulakkal rape case to November 30.
Since the judge was on leave the nun rape case was adjourned without being called.
The counsel of the bishop is expected to move the court seeking extension of his bail on that day.
On June 27 last year the nun had filed a complaint with the Kottayam police chief about the sexual abuse from 2014 to 2016. The statement of the nun was recorded on June 28.
The chargesheet in the case was filed on April nine this year.
The bishop was facing charges of wrongful confinement, rape, unnatural sex and criminal intimidation in the case.
