New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) The health infra-structure has been further ramped up in Delhi and for the first time in the National Capital, number of RT-PCR tests has exceeded Rapid Antigen Tests, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said on Sunday.
The Home Ministry officials further said that 250 ventilators which have been sent by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have been delivered to the DRDO hospital and are being installed.
In a tweet, the Home Ministry officials said, "house to house survey started in Delhi and till November 20, a total of 3,70,729 persons have been surveyed so far whereas the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) has started the process for recruitment of additional 207 Junior Residents."
The MHA on Friday informed that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has increased the RT-PCR capacity from 27,000 per day to 37,200 tests per day and 30,735 RT- PCR tests were conducted in Delhi.
This is in comparison to 12055 RT- PCR tests conducted on November 15, he added.
So far, 205 ICU beds have been added up in hospitals of Central Government, Delhi Government and private hospitals in the national capital.
The 75 doctors and 251 para-medics from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have already reported for duty at the DRDO Covid care centre near Delhi Airport and at Sardar Patel Covid care center at Chhattarpur in south Delhi, while around 500 isolation beds at COVID care centre at Chhattarpur.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on November 15 held a review meeting in the Home Ministry with the Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other Delhi Government officials and instructed a slew of measures to contain the spike in COVID-19 cases in Delhi, when 7000-8000 cases of Novel Coronavirus were reported and situation became alarming in the National Capital Region of Delhi.
