Patna, Nov 27 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwai Yadav today said the number of crimes in the state have doubled during the last one year even as the state government was evading any discussion on rising crime graph in the ongoing winter session of the house.
Mr Yadav told newspersons at his chamber in the state assembly premises that unlawful activities were on the constant rise in the state and according to the government`s figure itself, the number of crimes had doubled during the last one year. 'No action is being taken against any offender even as several incidents of murder, loot, dacoity and rape are being reported from Sitamarhi district,' he said while accusing the district administration of supporting ‘riotists’.
Mr Yadav said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, also holding home department, is very sensitive about his image and so when the Opposition asked question on law and order in the ongoing winter session of the state assembly, home department was removed from the list of question hour notices in a well planned manner. An old person walking on a street of Sitamarhi was beaten to death and his body was put on fire in presence of the administration, he said accusing police of suppressing the issue.
