Hyderabad, May 22 (UNI) National Convention on “Rejuvenation of Krishna River”, organised by Telangana Water Resources Development Corporation (TWRDC) in association with the Indian Water Council began at the Institution of Engineers (India) in Khairarabad, here on Tuesday.
The National convention aimed to bring together experts, environmental activists, authorities and respresentatives of civil society and NGOs to deliberate on the measures specific to four states of Krishna basin and evolve a plan of action engaging both NGOs and Government agencies. The plan of action guides the interventions required immediate and long term goals from 2018-28.
More than 300 delegates across the country including Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy, TWRDC Chairman V Prakash Rao, Rajendra Singh (Water Man of India), Prithvi Raj Singh (Governor-World Water Council) The Institution of Engineers(India) Secretary Dr Ramashwar Rao, NGOs and among others are participating in the day-long convention.
