NSF serves ultimatum to Manipur CM on harassment

Kohima, Feb 17 (UNI) In connection with the alleged harassment and assault meted out to the NSF team by Manipur police commandos at Mantripukri, Imphal on February 14, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has submitted a three-point ultimatum on the Manipur Government and sought fulfillment of demands within seven days.
In a memorandum addressed to Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, the NSF president Subenthung Kithan and assistant general secretary Kesosul Christopher Ltu put up the following demands of terminate the duty officer in charge from his service and the suspension of all the police personnel involved in the incident; give assurance to provide safety and security of the Nagas and Naga vehicles in and around the valley areas and officially tender a public apology to the NSF.
The NSF cautioned that it would be compelled to initiate its own course of action in case the Manipur government failed to take due consideration of the matter within seven days on receipt of the memorandum. In case of “vexatious fallout”, NSF warned that Manipur government will be held solely responsible.
