NRAI warns restaurants about deep discounts on dining

Hyderabad, Dec 9 (UNI) The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), the apex body representing the restaurant industry, on Monday warned restaurants about the dangers of aggregator payment gateways and deep discounting on dining.
In an advisory issued in the larger interest of the restaurant community, the Association said that adopting large-scale in-dining discount programs and payment products run by aggregator platforms may not only impact the economic well-being of restaurants but also can adversely impact the overall restaurant ecosystem in the long run.
In the recent past, deep discounting has caused significant challenges in the food delivery market, and the NRAI warns that similar tactics are being employed to capture the dine-in market through aggressive aggregator payment gateway adoption.
