NPP wants Manipur crisis resolved through talks: Meghalaya CM

Imphal, Oct 10 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who is on a two-day visit to Manipur, said here today that the National People's Party (NPP), which was born in Manipur, wants to resolve the ongoing crisis in the state through talks.
Sangma is also the national president of NPP. He said he discussed the prolonged Manipur crisis with Governor AK Bhalla, representatives of various civil society organisations, and internally displaced persons (IDPs), and expressed his resolve to contribute to efforts aimed at restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
He further said the NPP does not believe in a 'high-command' culture and wants every unit to function independently. The Manipur crisis, he said, is complex; however, all stakeholders should work towards finding an amicable solution without disturbing the territorial integrity of the state.
