NPP says Meghalaya TMC leaders will desert party after assembly polls

Shillong, Feb 2 (UNI) Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) national vice president Prestone Tynsong on Thursday made a startling claim that senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and former Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma and his team will leave the Mamata Banerjee-led party and join the BJP after the 2023 state assembly polls.

“I know his (Mukul) plan. If he wins 3-5 seats he will join the BJP. It is true that there is some kind of arrangement made between Mukul and the BJP, in what way I don’t know but Mukul will come out of the TMC, after the elections,” Tynsong told reporters.
