Now, Tulsi Gabbard welcomes Modi to US

New Delhi, Sep 20(UNI) US Congress Member and candidate for President Tulsi Gabbard, who shot into a minor controversy after she said she will not be able to attend 'Howdy Modi' event at Houston, on Friday said she is definitely welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US and said India and America remain very strong partners.
In a video message, Ms Gabbard said following this visit, India and the US will come closer and increase cooperation in a multiple sectors including climate change, economy, technology and security.
On Wednesday, Ms Gabbard clarified that she would be missing the much talked about Houston rally of Mr Modi because of previously scheduled campaign events.
''I am not attending the Houston event due to previously scheduled presidential campaign events,'' she had tweeted in response to an article which suggested that she voluntarily opted out to stay away from 'Howdy Modi' event which will be also attended by US President Donald Trump.
Ms Gabbard also said that she hopes to meet Mr Modi and ''discuss the importance of maintaining the strong partnership of the world's oldest and largest democracies''.

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) Delhi Police Crime Branch has filed 12 different charge sheets in the Saket court on Thursday in the Tablighi Jamaat Nizamuddin Markaz case against a total of 536 persons, while 35 such charge sheets were filed earlier, taking the total number of foreign nationals charge- sheeted in the case to 910 so far.
