Now farmers can also produce electricity: Minister

Mathura, Dec 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Power Minister Srikant Sharma on Saturday claimed that farmers would be able to produce electricity in coming days.
It would not only increase their income but provide them sufficient fuel for their agricultural use, he stressed.

UP power minster inaugurated Aditya App and Kusum scheme in a programme organised by Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) on World and National Energy Conservation Day.
He said under Kusum scheme farmers can established 0.5 to 2-megawatt solar energy plant at their land.

Mr Sharma further said state government would help to establish total 75-megawatt capacity solar plant this year. After utilising electricity for agriculture work, they could sell electricity to government which would increase their income.

He stated Aditya app prepared by UPDESCO would help 6000 energy friends for training and placement. He further said that if any technical issues occurs with solar plant government would provide the assistance.

He asserted that government has target to produce 10700-megawatt energy till 2022.
Mr Sharma added that till date 25,511 soar pumps were distributed.
