Not an opportune moment to talk about the issue: Cong on Rajnath's statement on Article 35 A

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) Questioning the statement made by Home Minister Rajnath Singh that the Centre has no plan to revoke Article 35-A, the Congress today wondered whether this was an opportune moment to talk about the issue.
Talking to reporters here, AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, ''The Home Minister is a very important functionary. I am reminded of Nani Palkhivala, who once said that when your house is on fire, you don't discuss whether you should convert your bedroom into a drawing room or dining room into a kitchen. You first deal with the fire. At the moment Kashmir is in a very delicate situation. I do not understand and know whether it is the right time, opportune moment to even talk about, leave aside the merits of an issue like this.''
Addressing reporters in Srinagar, Mr Singh said that anxiety in Kashmir over the revocation of Article 35-A is misplaced and the Centre has no such plan.
