Northern Railway’s Delhi Div conducts first-aid and CPR training for staff

New Delhi, Sept 8 (UNI) Following a rise in sudden heart attack cases across the country, especially in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Delhi Division of Northern Railway has intensified efforts to enhance emergency preparedness, including training more frontline staff in first-aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills, at major railway stations across the national capital.
After organising a five-day training programme from May 5 to 9, early this year, the Northern Railway Divisional Hospital resumed the sessions on September 2, further advancing efforts to strengthen life-saving capabilities among railway staff. It covered key stations including Anand Vihar Terminal, New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi Junction, Ghaziabad, Karnal, Panipat, Jind, and Rohtak.
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Northern Railway said that a dedicated team of doctors, comprising physicians and anaesthetists from the Delhi Division is conducting the sessions. The training targets frontline personnel, including the Railway Protection Force (RPF), commercial and operating departments, as well as outsourced Sahayaks (porters) and housekeeping staff.
