Lucknow, Oct 21 (UNI) Defending a hike in petrol and diesel prices, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of state for sports and youth affairs Upendra Tiwari said that 95 per cent of Indians do not need petrol as a handful of people use four-wheeler vehicles and they need petrol.
The reaction came after prices of petrol and diesel increased for the past several days in a row and touched new all-time highs. The price of petrol in Lucknow is Rs 103.18 per litre while it is highest in Mumbai where it costs Rs 112.44 per litre.
Speaking to the media in Jalaun on Thursday, Mr Tiwari said the Opposition does not have any issue targeting the government and therefore they are coming up with false claims to mislead the people.
