Non-bailable cases against quarantine violators in Assam

Guwahati, Jun 4 (UNI) As the COVID-19 tally in Assam moved towards the 2000-mark and policy of mandatory quarantine for all returnees from outside was being followed by the government to control the spread of the virus, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday warned of non-bailable criminal cases against anyone violating quarantine norms.

Taking stock of the situation in the northern districts of the state, Dr Sarma said the government will not tolerate any attempt to jump quarantine or create trouble in quarantine centre, with the police asked to register criminal cases against such offenders.
