Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Dec 14 (UNI) The situation in the drought-hit Marathwada is worsening further as the district administration here faces the herculean task of meeting the drinking needs of around 10,90,434 population residing in 504 villages and 65 hamlets.
The water sources in the above-mentioned villages which fall in the three districts of Aurangabad,Beed,and Jalna have dried up owing to the calamitous effects of the drought.
Citing the weekly report prepared by the Divisional Commissioner Office(DCO) here,presently a total of 635 water tankers have been pressed into the service for meeting the drinking demands of the drought-affected masses in the above-mentioned three districts.
