New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Amidst the recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel today came down heavily on the neighbouring nation and stated that India will not have any sporting ties with it until it stops nursing terrorism.
Speaking on the sidelines of announcing the National Youth Award, Goel said,"Terrorism and sports cannot move together which our neighbour should understand. Pakistan killed our two Indian soldiers, mutilating their bodies and the Indian government is serious over the entire barbaric incident."
Commenting on the issue of visa denial to Pakistani wrestlers for participating in the upcoming Asian Championship, scheduled to be held in the national capital from May 10-14, the Minister said he is aware of the entire incident. "I am clearly saying Pakistan that we will not have any sporting relations until it stops funding and nursing terrorism," said he. "In absence of sporting ties with Pakistan, their people will feel and understand how wrong their government is. The entire world knows how Pakistan is continuously promoting terrorism and this is why various other nations also refrain themselves from participating in sporting events there," said Goel.
