No shortage of Remdesivir in UP; Yogi orders crackdown on black-marketing of scarce Covid-19 drugs

Lucknow, Apr 16 (UNI) In the wake of the rising coronavirus infections in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict instructions to the State Health Department and State Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to check black marketing and hoarding of remdesivir and other drugs essential for treatment of COVID-19 patients and ensure that they are not sold at high prices.
The CM has directed to assess the availablity of the medicines for next month and then raise the demand. "No single patient should suffer for want of medicines," the CM said here on Friday.
CM Yogi, who is in self-isolation after testing positive for Covid, has been constantly reviewing the Covid situation across the state virtually with senior officials.

UP govt raises maintenance amount to Rs 50 per day for destitute cows

Prayagraj, Feb 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh on Saturday said that in order to give priority to cow protection, the Uttar Pradesh government has provided shelter to 12,43,623 destitute cows in 7,713 cow shelters and the amount given for their maintenance has been increased from Rs 30 per day per cow to Rs 50 per day.
