No prescribed uniform for Bihar teachers, but dignified attire mandatory: Deputy CM

Patna, July 21 ( UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday clarified in the state Assembly that there is no prescribed uniform or specific dress code for teachers in government schools. However, teachers are supposed to attend educational institutions wearing dignified and appropriate attire befitting the teaching profession.
The issue of teachers’ dress code was raised during Question Hour in the Bihar Legislative Assembly when RJD MLA Alok Kumar Mehta, while asking a question on behalf of RJD MLA Bhai Virendra, sought clarification on the implementation of the Education Department’s guidelines regarding teachers’ attire.
Intervening during the response of Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, Chaudhary said there is a clear difference between the dress requirements for students and teachers.
