No pig deaths recorded in Mizoram for second consecutive day amid ASF outbreak

Aizawl, Dec 1 (UNI) No pig deaths have been reported for the second consecutive day on Sunday as Mizoram witnesses a brief reprieve from the resurgence of the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak.
State animal husbandry and veterinary officials confirmed that there were no new casualties or culling operations over the weekend.
While 10 pigs, including seven in Lungdai village of Kolasib district bordering Assam, died on Friday, no pig casualties were recorded on Saturday and Sunday. This marks the sixth day in recent weeks without any daily deaths or culling activities, according to records maintained by the veterinary department.
