No new posstive COVID case in Pondy

Puducherry, Apr 9 (UNI) There is no new positive Corona Virus Disease (COVID 19) cases in the union territory of Puducherry, chief minister V Narayanasamy said here on Thursday.
In an audio clipping sent to the press here tonight, the chief minister said of the five positive cases (four in Puducherry and one in Mahe region), there is no improvement in the condition of the 71 year old man being treated for COVID in Kannur, Kerala. The Mahe administration is watching his condition, he added. As many as 133 persons who contacted with the man in Mahe region were tested for the disease and found to be negative, he added.
Pointing out that more than 20 positive cases were reported in Villippuram district of Tamilnadu and 13 in Cuddalore district, Mr Narayansamy said Puducherry is in between these two districts and called up on the people to be more vigilant and not to come out pf their houses unless there is an emergency and maintain social distancing. People should wear masks while coming out of their house as adjoining Tamilnadu is second affected state in the country. Police personnel were advised not to allow anyone from other states into Puducherry and to take stringent action if anyone violates this, he added.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
