No gas leak at Chembur's RCF plant: BMC

Mumbai, Sep 20 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Friday said that there is no gas leakage in the Rashtriya Chemical Fertiliser's plant, in Chembur suburb.
The civic body's statement comes after many citizens in eastern and western suburbs reported smelling an unknown odour, late on Thursday night.
The incident further sparked rumours of a gas leak at the RCF plant.
According to reports, the odour, which started emanating after 2200 hrs, was reported from various places, including Chembur, Mankhurd, Govandi, Chandivali, Powai, Ghatkopar and Andheri.
No casualties were reported in the incident, said the police.
