Mysuru, Oct 23 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah rejected the BJP claim that some Congress MLAs were ready to join the saffron party as they were dissatisfied over his functioning. Speaking to reporters at the Airport here, he termed the BJP State unit President B S Yeddyurappa's claim, as wishful thinking and an attempt to create confusion. The Chief Minister arrived here to participate in a convention. 'Mr Yeddyurappa has, by late, is spreading lies. His statement that many Congress MLAs from North Karnataka were willing to join the BJP, is once such instance,' he said. The BJP leader had claimed yesterday that many Congress MLAs and leaders from the region were willing to join BJP as they were dissatisfied with Mr Siddaramaiah. 'No leader or MLA from Congress will ever think of going to BJP even in his or her sleep. It is the strategy of BJP to mislead the people with their lies. Our leaders are loyal to the party and won’t be carried away by the drama of the BJP leaders,' he said. Speaking on the possibilities of V Srinivas Prasad joining the BJP, the Chief Minister said that Prasad is no more in Congress. 'We are least bothered whether he joins BJP or some other party,' he added. Mr Siddaramaiah also slammed his close associate C M Ibrahim and outspoken former Parliamentarian H Vishwanath, both from his party, for their criticism over his functioning as Chief Minister. He said the party candidate for the eventual bypoll for Nanjangud Assembly Constituency after Mr Prasad had quit the seat and about to leave Congress, was not finalised. No name was finalised including PWD Minister H C Mahadevappa's son Sunil Bose, he added. On the contentious steel overbridge in Bengaluru connecting Chalukya Circle to Hebbal to ease traffic, he said the government was committed to build the bridge and 73 per cent of the people in the city had supported it. The Congress convention scheduled at Nanjanagud is all set to be a platform for Siddaramaiah and Dr H C Mahadevappa to take on senior Dalit leader Mr Prasad. Sources in the party said Congress was already serious over the bypoll to Nanjangud. On the issue of attacks on Kannada speaking families in Goa, Mr Siddaramaiah promised that he would speak to his counterpart and urge him to ensure safety of Kannadigas in Goa. KPCC President and Home Minister G Parameshwar, District In-charge Minister Mahadevappa, Minister for Cooperation Mahadeva Prasad, KPCC Working president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, MP Dhruva Narayan and other Congress leaders attended the convention. Marigowda, the close aide of Siddaramaiah who has been expelled by the party also attended the convention and was seen on stage. UNI BSP RS CS 1525
