NMC clarifies process for determining eligibility for medical teaching posts under MIQF-2025

Panchkula, Jul 17 (UNI) The National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked all medical colleges and institutions to follow a clarification issued by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) regarding the determination of eligibility for teaching positions under the Medical Institutions (Qualifications of Faculty) Regulations, 2025 (MIQF-2025).
In a communication issued on Friday, the NMC referred institutions to the PGMEB Public Notice dated July 16, 2026, stating that it explains the Board's role in determining eligibility for teaching posts and addresses queries relating to the issuance of eligibility certificates and faculty appointments.
According to the Commission, the clarification was issued after receiving numerous representations from individual faculty members, medical colleges, universities, NBEMS-accredited hospitals and other stakeholders seeking guidance on appointments and promotions to various teaching positions under the 2025 Regulations.
