Nitish directs for early distribution of Agriculture input subsidy to farmers

Patna, Dec 13 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today directed the authorities concerned to begin distribution of Agriculture input subsidy to farmers without any further delay to ensure maximum benefits of the scheme to them.
Mr Kumar, addressing a meeting of governing body of Bihar Vikas Mission here, said that Agriculture input subsidy should be given to farmers as soon as possible for giving maximum benefits of the scheme to them. It came to light that farmers were burning the remains of their crops, causing serious damage to environment which should be stopped immediately, he added.
"Burning of remains of their crops by farmers in Punjab and Haryana was responsible for degradation of environment in Delhi", Chief Minister said, adding that farmers opting to burn crops remains in Bihar should be identified and they should be advised not to get indulged in such practices. If it was not stopped in very beginning, alarming situation like Delhi would also prevail in Bihar, he cautioned.
