Nirmal Singh asks PDC to expedite work on projects to improve electric supply in J&K

Srinagar, May 14 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today directed the officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (PDC) to expedite work on various projects undertaken by them so that the electric supply is augmented and people are provided with round the clock supply of electricity.
While asking for speedy completion of the projects undertaken by the corporation, Dr Singh, who was speaking at a review meeting of the PDC here today, said that it will ensure that power supply is augmented.
He said the completion of these new initiatives will not make our state self-sufficient in electricity generation, but we would also export the same. “It will boost our economy and also cut the deficit of our budget a major chunk of which is spent on importing electric power from other states,” he said.
