Warangal, Sept 11 (UNI) Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said the introduction of NIRF rankings as a measure, has inculcated a positive and healthy competition for quality amongst every institute in India.
Addressing after inaugurating four new academic building complexes at the institute, Mr Javadekar described NIT Warangal as one of the best educational institutes; and speaking from his 60 years of experience, encouraged students to make the most out of this beautiful, pollution-free and innovative campus.
“Hum fit, tabhi India fit!” summed up his advice regarding wellness within the student community, the Minister said.
He believed that NIT Warangal tops everywhere because of a dedicated team of teachers and students who represent the diversity of the country, and learning in this atmosphere provides the best experience possible.
He advocated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policy that inculcates the culture of innovation which is a development from our line of progress since the last 30 years.
Prosperity and sustainability are linked with innovation, and we should strive to be owners instead of contributors, he said the Smart India Hackathon was one such initiative which saw a substantial rise in enthusiasm from 40,000 students to 1 lakh within a span of one year.
The industry-academy interactions are very important for the development of our country, and it’s places like NIT Warangal which provide platforms for such a growth, said Mr Javadekar.
In his concluding speech, the Minister mentioned the brain-drain from our country, and to counter this, a scholarship programme - Prime Minister Research Fellowship, has been introduced, which is proving to be a game-changer for transforming the landscape of education in India.
Later, he presented the certificates to those who performed best in the Swacch Bharath Summer Internship.
