Nirbhaya death row: Indira Jaising's nexus with AAP is well known, says BJP

New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) The BJP on Sunday lashed out at the eminent lawyer Indira Jaising for her suggestion to 'Nirbhaya' victim's mother to forgive the wrong doers saying the legal counsel's nexus with the AAP is a well known thing.
"...Baat khulegi toh lambi jaegi (If we speak out everything openly, things will go far off)," BJP leader Saroj Pandey told reporters here.
"Indira Jaising is a woman and she also understands the legal facets, but it appears the pain of a mother's heart has not touched her," the BJP leader said commenting on the latest controversy triggered after Jaising had requested Nirbhaya's mother to forgive the four convicts who are on death row.
"While I fully identify with the pain of Asha Devi, I urge her to follow the example of Indian National Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi who forgave Nalini and said she didn't not want the death penalty for her. We are with you but against death penalty," Ms Jaising had tweeted on Friday.
A visibly upset Nirbhaya's mother had reacted saying: "Who is Indira Jaising to give me such a suggestion? Entire nation wants the convicts to be executed. Just because of people like her, rape victims do not obtain justice. Can't believe how she even dared to suggest this. I met her many times over the years in the Supreme Court, not once did she ask for my well being and today she is speaking for convicts. Such people make a living by supporting rapists".
BJP leader Saroj Pandey on Sunday said Ms Jaisingh should have thought over the issue many times before she made the suggestion.
"We condemn her remarks....," Ms Pandey said.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari alleged since the capital punishment was served on the convicts, for two years (between 2017 and 2019), the Delhi government under AAP did not officially convey about the judgement to the wrongdoers.
"Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister (Manish Sisodia) has said control over Delhi police does not fall under them. This is not true fact of the matter as Jail administration comes under Delhi government and providing this information to convicts is job of Jail administration and not of Delhi police," Mr Tiwari said.
