Raipur, Dec 25 (UNI) Nine out of 10 Ministers in Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s cabinet were sworn-in on Tuesday.
One ministerial berth has temporarily been kept unoccupied.
Among nine Ministers who were sworn-in today are Ravindra Choubey, Premsai Singh, Md Akbar, Kawasi Lakhma, Shiv Dahria, Anila Bhedia, Jai Singh Agrawal, Guru Rudra Kumar and Umesh Patel.
Governor Anandiben Patel administered oath of office and secrecy to nine ministers at swearing-in
ceremony, held at Police Parade ground here on Tuesday.
Two cabinet ministers - TS Singhdeo and Tamradhwaj Sahu - were sworn-in along with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on December 17. With swearing-in of nine ministers today, total 11 ministers have been included in the cabinet.
Congress came back to power in Chhattisgarh after a gap of 15 years, registering landslide victory on 68 seats in 90-member Chhattisgarh legislative assembly. Anila Bhedia is the lone woman MLA to have taken oath as minister in Bhupesh cabinet.
The swearing-in ceremony began at 11 AM and lasted till 11:30 AM in presence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Congress state in-charge PL Punia and several other senior Congress leaders.
Caste equation was kept in mind in formation of the cabinet. MLAs belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward classes have been included as ministers apart from inclusion of MLAs of general categories in the cabinet. Kawardha MLA Md Akbar is the lone Muslim representative in Bhupesh cabinet.
