Nigerian national arrested for cheating woman

Puducherry, Jul 17(UNI) The Cyber wing of the Puducherry police on Saturday arrested a Nigerian national on charges of cheating a woman by promising a job on an online platform.
Police identified the accused as Yaiwo Adewale, who is presently residing in Karnataka.
According to Subham Ghosh, Superintendent of Police, cyber cell, the woman residing at Reddiarpalayam here gave a complaint last year regarding an online job fraud. In her complaint she stated that while seeking job opportunity abroad on online platform, she was cheated. She said after posting a job application online a person contacted her and offered a job. The person also insisted on making certain payments in the bank account given and she remitted Rs.5.25 lakhs.
