NIA files chargesheet against 10 accused In KLF Narco-terror case

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) Central terror probe agency NIA on Friday filed chargesheet against 10 accused in a case related to the seizure of heroin and drugs in NIA Court at Mohali.
According to the probing agency, the 10 accused namely Jajbir Singh, resident of Trantaran, Harpreet Singh alias Happy of Moga district, Varinder Singh Chahal of Amritsar (Rural district),Nirmal Singh alias Neeldhari of Batala in Gurdaspur, Satpal Singh of Amritsar (Rural), Harjit Singh alias Bagga of Amritsar, Jasmeet Singh Hakimzada of New Delhi and now located in Dubai, Harmeet Singh alias Ph.D of Amritsar and Jasbir Singh alias Shera of AmritsarRural district have been charge sheeted under sections of 120B of IPC,sections 13,17,18 and 40 of UA (P) Act, section 21, 25, 27 A, 29 of NDPS Act in the Mohali Special NIA Court.
In May 31 last year, a seizure of 500 gms of Heroin and drug money Rs. 1,20,000 was made from three accused and a case was registered at Police Stsation Tarsikka in Amritsar (Rural) under sections 21 & 29 of NDPS Act, which was later taken over by the NIA on January 22 this year.
During the central terror probe agency investigation, it was revealed that Harmeet Singh alias PhD, who was self-styled chief of banned terror organisation Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) based in Pakistan and Jasmeet Singh Hakimzada, a Dubai based international drugs smuggler and money launderer, had running the Narco-terror network to further the terrorist activities of KLF.
“The network included persons involved in smuggling and selling of Heroin, militant elements and Hawala operatives based in Punjab, Delhi and Dubai responsible for the entire chain from selling of Heroin to channelizing the proceeds to Dubai and Pakistan at the behest of Harmeet Singh and Jasmeet Singh Hakimzada. Both the afore-mentioned prime accusedhave been charge sheeted as absconders and further proceedings are on against them as per the extant laws”, the probing agency said, adding that further investigation against co-conspirators and suspects have been continued in this case.
