NIA arrests WB absconder from Bihar in Vizag FICN case

New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (UNI) on Wednesday arrested an absconding accused Tajamul SK from Sugauli in East Champaran of Bihar, in connection with the Vizag Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) case, the probe agency said here on Friday.
The arrested accused is a resident of Malda district in West Bengal.
The central terror probe agency produced the accused on May 23 before Motihari CJM Court, obtaining five-day transit remand, to produce him before the NIA Court at Vijayawada.
This case is related to the seizure of FICN of face value of Rs 10,20,000 from Md Mahaboob Baig alias Azhar Baig and Syed Imran of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Visakhapatnam on March 31, 2018.

During investigation, it was revealed that the accused had travelled to Malda from Bangalore and collected FICN from Saddam alias Firoj Saikh, one of the associates of Tajamul. NIA, Hyderabad had filed a charge sheet against Md Mahaboob Baig and Syed Imran on June 29, 2018.
''Absconding accused Tajamul Sk had arranged FICN through his associates from across the border and facilitated circulation of FICN in Bangalore and nearby areas,'' the probe agency said in a statement.
