New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) National Investigation Agency on Tuesday said that it has arrested one more accused Haripal Singh Chauhan of Nakulnar village under Kuakonda Police Station in Dantewada district on Monday in connection with the killing of Chhattisgarh BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi.
The accused was produced before the Jagdalpur NIA Special Court on Tuesday and has been sent to NIA remand for his custodial interrogation.
The case is related to an IED blast followed by indiscriminate firing by the cadres of CPI (Maoist) on April 9 last year near Shyamgiri village under Kuakonda police station in Dantewada, in which, the then sitting BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi was killed along with four police personnel of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF). The arms and ammunition of the martyred police personnel were also looted.
