NIA arrests 17 accused in Bengaluru riots case

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) The anti- terror probe agency NIA on Monday said that it has arrested seventeen SDPI and PFI leaders and activists for their involvement in the violent attack and large scale rioting at KG Halli Police Station, Bengaluru on August 11 this year.
The riots were triggered after a Facebook post by Naveen, nephew of a Congress Pulakeshi Nagar MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy.
The case was originally registered as FIR no. 229/ 2020, PS KG Halli on August 12 this year and the National Investigation Agency took over this case on September 21 and initiated investigation in this case.
