NHRC issues notice to UP govt over reported missing children of a couple exonerated on false charges of murder after spending five years in an Agra jail

Lucknow, Jan 28 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notice to Uttar Pradesh government over reported missing children of a couple exonerated on false charges of murder after spending five years in an Agra jail.
Taking suo-motu cognizance of a media report that after 5 years in jail in Agra district of UP for the crime they didn’t commit, a couple can’t find their two kids, who had been reportedly sent to some orphanage in their absence.
Considering it as a serious issue of human rights violation, the Commission has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and DGP, UP calling for a detailed report in the matter within four weeks, NHRC statement here on Thursday said.
